A Moon for the Daydreamers
May 8, 2024 – September 1, 2024
Connecting diverse artworks primarily drawn from OCMA’s permanent collection, A Moon for the Daydreamers weaves a tapestry of lunar interpretations, drawing on the profound solitude and communal wonder that the moon inspires. Ranging from painting, printmaking, photography, and video, the collection of works navigates the literal, symbolic, and abstract dimensions of lunar influences, presenting a multifaceted narrative on identity and our relationship with the cosmos, while exploring the moon’s gravitational pull on our collective psyche.
Artists included: Carlos Almaraz, John Baldessari, Tony Berlant, Paul Caponigro, Vija Celmins, Lynn Chadwick, Frank W. Cuprien, Vernon Fisher, Emily Furr, John Pfahl, Rachel Rose
A Moon for the Daydreamers is organized by Assistant Curator Ziying Duan, with Chief Curator & Director of Programs Courtenay Finn, Installation Director Albert Lopez, and Head Preparator Philipp Hube, with support from the entire OCMA staff.
