Join Simphiwe Ndzube in conversation with OCMA’s CEO and Director, Heidi Zuckerman. Ndzube is from Hofmeyr, Eastern Cape, and lives and works in Los Angeles, California, and Cape Town, South Africa. Ndzube creates universes with his sculptures, paintings, and assemblages, exploring the interplay between objects, media, and two-dimensional surfaces. The artist stiches together a subjective account of the Black experience in past and present-day South Africa from a mythological perspective. His work was recently on view in the California Biennial 2022: Pacific Gold exhibition. Simphiwe Ndzube holds a BA Fine Art from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town.
