Weekend Studio: Narratives Unfold
October 5, 2025, 3:00 PM–5:00 PM
Craft an engaging personal narrative in the spirit of artist Stanya Kahn, currently featured in the 2025 California Biennial: Desperate, Scared, But Social. Taking inspiration from Kahn’s film No Go Backs (2020), participants will create flag books and fill each page with imagery exploring family histories, the natural world, or issues that matter to them!
Tickets are $10 or free for residents of Costa Mesa. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Overflow seating may be available with modified materials. Registrants that arrive more than 15 minutes past the start time cannot be guaranteed entry.
Weekend Studio workshops invite artists of all experience levels to engage with current exhibitions through creative, hands-on activities. Workshops involve materials that are suitable for ages 6 and up only, and all families must sit together for the duration of the program.
