Rose River Memorial | by Marcos Lutyens in collaboration with community volunteers

Internationally recognized artist Marcos Lutyens created the OC Rose River Memorial to commemorate those who have passed away from COVID-19 in Orange County. Local residents created 4,000 hand-made roses, each representing a lost life. The memorial, which was temporarily installed outside OCMA’s entrance and remained on view for one week, visualizes our collective loss and seeks to generate community healing.

The OC Rose River Memorial was on view at OCMA from March 1 through March 7.
