Over roughly three decades, Los Angeles-based artist Rodney McMillian has developed an expansive multimedia practice that pursues critical perspectives on myth, personal narrative, and American history. McMillian works across painting, sculpture, and performance-based video, transcending artistic and conceptual boundaries to interrogate how identities, cultural structures, and material processes collapse into one another.
