Weekend Studio: Collaging the Body

Artists Steve Roden and Jon Serl have both experimented with the shapes and lines of the human form in their work. Inspired by Steve Roden’s artwork when the body becomes a city and the city becomes a body (2013) and Jon Serl’s theatrical and distorted representations of the figure, participants will use collage techniques to create surreal and abstract figurative artworks. 

Tickets are $10 or free for residents of Costa Mesa. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Overflow seating may be available with modified materials. Registrants that arrive more than 15 minutes past the start time cannot be guaranteed entry. 

Weekend Studio workshops invite artists of all experience levels to engage with current exhibitions through creative, hands-on activities. Workshops involve materials that are suitable for ages six (6) and up only, and all families must sit together for the duration of the program.
